Sometimes I judge a movie by its title, by the opinions of others, or by watching the trailer. I never really know the movie however, until I have actually seen it. Sometimes I find that people make judgments about God the same way – from the title "Christian," from the opinions of others, or from watching snippets of Christians' lives.

A recent conversation with a waitress is an example. She had grown up in a "Christian" family but was not following Jesus. Her mind was filled with negative thoughts and questions. The title "Christianity," the opinions of others, and "trailers" from her life had led her to false conclusions. She needed to see God through Jesus. In fact, Jesus says,

If you really know Me, you will know My Father as well. John 14:7a NIV

Jesus is the entire movie – revealing God and His Kingdom, even paying our expensive admission. My response to the waitress was, "Please don't judge Christianity by your family or their actions. Please don't judge Christianity by me. Judge Christianity only by Christ."

Will you join me this week in pointing people to Jesus?

Sharing the journey with you,
