Yearning: an intense or overpowering longing, desire, or need; craving.
One of my greatest yearnings is to be loved. Why?
My longing for love comes from the deepest roots of my being. It is a part of who I am. Much of what I am reflects this desire.
As I seek after love, I find God, because God is love. Why then do I look for love elsewhere? I hear voices that tell me “you are unlovely, you aren’t good enough.” But God tells me:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued my faithfulness to you.” Jeremiah 31:3
In God, my yearning for love is satisfied. Will you join me this week in receiving the love of God?
