"Where are you Daddy?" I heard this pleading cry of a small child while shopping. The reply came quickly, "Daddy is over here. Follow my voice." The little girl in response to her father's voice begged, "Daddy, please keep talking." I instantly thought of my relationship to my Heavenly Father.

How often do I feel lost in life? Yet when I feel lost, I often choose a different approach than this little girl. I am inclined to work harder, run frantically and seek to find my own solutions to my confusion rather than instantly crying out, "Abba, where are you?"

Jesus, knowing that I respond this way, shared His thoughts on this subject,

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20 NIV)

Just as the little girl's father said, "I am over here," Jesus says, "Here I am!" The voice of Jesus beckons me. Am I listening so that I can find Him?

Join me this week in listening to the voice of God and responding.
