I say to myself, The Lord is my inheritance, therefore, I will hope in him. Lamentations 3:25 NLT

Reading this Scripture reminds me of the preamble to my grandfather’s will.  I thought you might enjoy reading it.

Full text reads:

To Proceed, my last will was written by David Young, attorney at law. September 18, 1954

In the Name of God, Amen, I, Rev. Monroe S. Dourte, of the Country of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, being of mature age, of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do therefore make, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

Item: I will to my children and their families the answers of my prayers for their eternal salvation and the Christian religion, which has been so much comfort to me, and I hope may be a solace for them.

Item: I bequeath to them a hope of reunion when the period of this life is over to share and share alike of the eternal riches.

Item: I will and wish that they may avoid my errors and copy only anything that to them may have been worthy in the name of God, who made me, in the name of Jesus Christ, who redeemed me, in the name of the Holy Ghost, who sanctified and lead me, Amen.

What will be the legacy of our lives? And, oh by the way, God is preparing an inheritance for those who believe in his Son.

Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. Matthew 25:34 NLT
