I confess…I have thought about discovering a great treasure and have dreamt about what I would do with it. I know I am not alone. Some treasure enthusiasts spend millions of dollars in pursuit of hidden treasure. The key to discovery is often found in a good map or a guide. The few, however, who actually succeed often realize that their treasure ultimately leaves them dissatisfied. I have to ask myself, "What treasure am I seeking?"

A treasure for which I would sacrifice everything would have to be of great worth. What would I invest for the treasure of my relationship with God? If I were wise, I would listen to the apostle Paul who points me to the guide who can help me. Speaking of the church at Laodicea, Paul says…

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:2-3 NIV)

If I truly cared about the treasure of knowing God, I would invest everything I have into my relationship with Jesus. Will you join me?

Sharing the journey with you,
