Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.  (Matthew 5:8 NIV)

My wife, Pamela, and I recently went to the movies. After the previews for future films, we asked the rhetorical question, “Is this edifying?” At times, I trivialize the impact these moments have on my heart. The negative input goes somewhere and eventually comes out. The computer concept – garbage in, garbage out – applies here. Am I too casual about the issue of purity?

The Apostle Paul spoke about this important issue as he encouraged the Philippian church,

…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. (Philippians 4:8 NIV)

If garbage in yields garbage out, then good in yields good out. Join me in improving our inputs this week. Some people might be surprised by the outputs that result!

Sharing the journey with you,
