I love to learn and enjoy a wide array of reading. No matter how much I read, however, I will remain an unlikely participant on Jeopardy, a popular TV quiz show in the United States featuring trivia on many subjects.
“Knowing it all" has much allure for me. As I study the Bible, however, I realize that I cannot “know it all”. There is much mystery this side of heaven. At times, I have found searching the mysteries of God’s Word more intriguing than doing the hard work of obeying the truth God has already revealed. I am learning that the secret things of God belong to Him. I have more than enough to do obeying what He has revealed. Moses tells me,
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of the law. (Deuteronomy 29:29 NIV)
