I so appreciate the assistance of MapQuest and GPS in finding my way to unknown destinations. However, when these technological guides make a mistake, detours and delays are a frustrating certainty. Amazingly I continue to place my trust in them.

God promises a better guidance system on my journey home to Him. He numbers the days of my journey (Psalms 39:4) and promises a trip without detours if I just follow His divine instructions.

So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you;
do not turn aside to the right or to the left.
Walk in obedience to all that the LORD your God has commanded you,
so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. (Deuteronomy 5:32-33 NIV)

I would do well not to trust myself or others as I seek guidance on my way to my Heavenly Home but rather trust God's Word and obey the instructions carefully. Join me this week staying on God's path Home.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
