As I with great delight examine my grandson, I must admit that I am at times looking for my DNA. His eyes are blue and mine are brown — I don't see my DNA there. His personality is so pleasant and mine is… I don't see my DNA there either. I guess I will keep looking.

When God examines me is He looking for His DNA expressed through me?

While looking for a king the prophet Samuel was seeking characteristics based on the world's standards but God had different criteria.

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (I Samuel 16:7 NIV)

God's DNA was revealed in David making him the choice for king.

… He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will. (Acts 13:22 NIV)

As God examines me does he find His DNA? What does He find in you?

Sharing the journey with you,
