As I get older I realize that the important lessons in life are often ones I have learned before. Why do I need to relearn these critical lessons? In the whirlwind of life, I lose my focus. I spend my time on what comes across my path rather than focusing on the path itself. The truly important issues are few and usually revolve around faith and family. But attending to what confronts me daily in my personal and work life distract me. What do I need to do to return and relearn? I must:

  • Stop and reflect.
  • Ask, "Am I on the right path?"

In my spiritual life, I sometimes need to learn the old lessons again. At times, I have the same problem the church at Ephesus had.

You have forsaken the love you had at first. Revelation 2:4 NIV

Returning to my first love requires me to slow down (Oh my, can I do that?) and spending time with the One I love—finding myself on His Way…the path with Jesus and the delight of obedience. Will you join me this week?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
