How can you believe, if you accept praise from one another and don't seek the praise that comes from the only God? John 5:44 NET

My mother-in-law challenged me by saying, "There is no limit to what can be accomplished if you don't care who gets the credit." When working together with others toward a common goal, I can be tempted to accept the credit for myself. This is not good!

If I do anything for "my glory" instead of God's glory, then I have missed the opportunity of praise that only comes from God. Paul said,

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV

An example of this is provided by the American football player, Trey Burton. Listen to Trey explain to a secular journalist how to bring glory to God! Click here to listen to this 3:30 minute video. Please note, it is not until the 1:40 minute mark that he begins to speak of God.

Will you join me in asking the question, "Who am I doing this for, for God's credit or mine?"

Forgive us, Father, for seeking our own glory at times. May all that we think, say, and do bring glory to You alone.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
