At times, I present my life's needs and desires to God in a list with a timetable. I am like a child who does not know what he is asking of his parent. The wise parent, knowing the big picture and having the child's best interest at heart, chooses to give hard answers to pleading requests.

The Apostle Peter knew the importance of unhindered prayer that had the attentive ear of God. I certainly want that for my prayers. Paraphrasing what Peter says in I Peter 3:7-12,

Live a life with your precious vessel, Pamela, that demonstrates loving consideration, respecting her and sharing your life, Bob, with her as an equal inheritor of the Kingdom… so that nothing will hinder your prayers. (I Peter 3:7 NIV)

And live a righteous life by keeping your tongue, Bob, from deceit and evil while also doing good and pursuing peace… for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayers…   (I Peter 3:12 NIV)

Do I really want my prayers answered?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
