Before leaving for a trip I usually print out internet driving instructions. For whatever reason, I had not followed my normal routine. Soon I was asking, "Where am I?" and "How do I get to my destination?" After much effort, I found someone who got me back on track and I finished my journey without further problem. When will I learn that I must always seek directions before embarking on my travels?

Spiritually at times, I find myself wandering. Those are the times I have not sought guidance before setting out. On Sunday, I may sing the hymn, "Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah" but by Monday morning I hurriedly roam without God-inspired purpose and guidance. Is it any wonder that I get lost?

The Apostle John reminds me of the guidance system I can access,

"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." (John 14:26)

The evidence of my desire to follow God is that I come to Him BEFORE starting my journey each day. Will you join me?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
