Do you, like me, feel inadequate and a bit overwhelmed during this time of pandemic? Moses knew this feeling often. He came to realize that he needed God’s presence every minute and every step in the desert. In fact, God said to Moses,
My presence will go with you and I will give you rest (Exodus 33:14). Then Moses replied, If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. (Exodus 33:15)
Moses and the Israelites could “see his presence” in the desert—the familiar cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.
I can’t see God with my physical eyes, yet the “eyes of my heart” and scripture tell me that God is always near. Yet, I must admit that I am not always aware of His presence. But if someone asked me, “Is God present?” I would reply with confidence, “Yes.”
