I can remember sitting in 7th grade English class feeling small, unimportant and insignificant. My destiny was NOT running with the popular crowd or being a sports hero. Fortunately, I belonged to a loving family where the messages I received were positive. Love, appreciation and esteem were given to me in large measures by my parents. How fortunate I was.

Even as an adult the voices of doubt occasionally creep into my head — telling me that who I am and what I do is unimportant and insignificant. These messages are a lie because I have been adopted into a spiritual family.

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. (Galatians 4:4-5 NIV)

As a child of God, I receive affirmation, assurance, contentment and peace. My own relevance is a non-issue as God liberates me by His love. What a blessing… what a joy!

Seek with me this week God's liberating love, finding identity and significance in Him.
