What a busy week! An upcoming trip to Australia and India would have been enough – PowerPoints to prepare, lecture notes to assemble, bags to pack. On top of that, this week was our church’s annual missions conference requiring significant speaking and training time and multiple meetings with missionaries. In the midst of this busyness, where was I to find time for my Pamela?

Time with Pamela did not occur randomly this past week. It happened with great desire and intention. I had to seek her out and create space for her. Most of the time occurred on the way, driving in the car together, early morning prayer time, and finally collapsing Saturday night snuggled with Pamela on the couch watching basketball.

Time spent with God is no less challenging. It involves great desire and intention, creating space for God and seeking Him out. The prophet Isaiah suggests that I should not delay in my pursuit of God,

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. (Isaiah 55:6 NIV)

Will you join me this week in carving out space for God in your life? Oh by the way, God has shown me that one of the best ways to love Him is to create space for my wife and loving her!

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
