Sometimes my self-image teeters between positive and negative, depending on the kind of feedback I receive. Amazingly after all these years my self-worth often depends upon my feelings. How could this be? I have long understood that I am created in the image of God which should be the underpinning of my self-worth, "In the image of God he created him, male and female he created them." (Genesis 1:26 NIV)

Whenever my identity lies in any place other than God, I am left vulnerable to struggle and discouragement. However, when I am reminded “WHY I was created”, I am even more able to stand above my circumstances with confidence – not in myself but in Christ. Paul tells us,

"All things were created by Him and for Him." (Colossians 1:16 NIV)

Knowing that I was created FOR Him gives my life infinite meaning, purpose and value. My life does not belong to me, but to Him – for His purposes.

This week let us go into the world clothed in confidence and immeasurable worth because our life exists for the One we follow.

Sharing the journey with you,
