The day was cloudless, filled with sunshine. Pamela and I were walking on top of the Dachstein Glacier in Austria (2,700 meters above sea level). A biting cold wind and a brilliant sun quickly sent us looking for shelter. At the bottom of the gondola we found warmth in a wonderfully shaded restaurant with delicious food and drink. Just what we needed!

Many walking through each day feel the overwhelming winds of life and are looking for shelter. Amazingly we who follow Jesus can be a shelter for them. Speaking of the Kingdom of Righteousness, Isaiah said,

Each man will be a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. (Isaiah 32:2 NIV)

We can be the protection against the blasts of wind and the provision of blessing for others. What an opportunity! This week let’s be on the look-out for those in the midst of a storm and shelter them in the Kingdom of Righteousness.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
